November 9, 2025 Classes with Sue Juczak
Headache Relief Techniques 4-CE Hour Class
9am-1pm $125 or take both of Sue’s classes for $200.
In this class you will learn techniques to help relieve Muscular Tension type headaches. We will review anatomy, learn trigger point techniques, address muscular imbalances, and experience relaxation techniques. You will create a headache questionnaire with important information like location, frequency and intensity. We’ll also look at some of the common factors in headaches. If you work with clients with headaches, take the workshop and learn some new skills to help treat them more effectively.
Face First 4-CE Hour Class
2pm-6pm $125 or take both of Sue’s classes for $200
In this class you will learn a new Swedish Massage routing beginning with the “Face First”. Techniques to enhance lymphatic flow and help relieve muscular tension of the head and neck region will be taught. If you feel you might be stuck in the same routine or you want to learn some fun, clever techniques to treat chronic neck, shoulder, and upper back tension will take your sessions to the next level.
November 10 Classes with Laura Allen
The Educated Heart: Roles & Boundaries for Massage Therapists
4-CE Hour Class $125 or take both of Laura’s classes for $175
This fun and very interactive class is based on Nina McIntosh’s The Educated Heart (which I have authored the last three editions of the book since her passing in 2010). Many times, ethics classes focus on the boundaries of the client—but we need to think about our own boundaries as well! We’ll view short videos depicting common dilemmas that massage therapists are faced with concerning their own boundaries, and attendees will take turns giving different reactions—sounding judgmental, taking things personally issues, or handling things in a calm and professional manner. It’s great practice for when pesky situations arise. We’ll also talk about how having policies and procedures in place can nip it in the bud!
So, You Want to be a Teacher 4-CE Hour Class
4-CE Hour Class $125 or take both of Laura’s classes for $175
This is an introductory class for those who desire to teach massage, as an instructor in entry-level massage school, as an online educator, a CE provider, or as a community educator. It takes more than being a good massage therapist to be a good instructor. Those are two different skills with two different skill sets. You’ll get basic foundational knowledge of teaching adult learners, and all kinds of tips for creating a teaching experience that will benefit both you and your students.
Class will be held at the Fellowship Hall behind Mountain View Baptist Church, located at 430 US-221, Rutherfordton, NC 28139. There is a fully equipped kitchen in the Hall if you want to bring your lunch. There are numerous restaurants within 2-3 miles. A list of nearby lodging is located here.
Drive to the rear of the church from the church parking lot or from Mountain View Cemetery Road. You may park on the asphalt, on the grass behind the building, and lining the road that runs in front of the Fellowship Hall, but don’t block the drive. The Fellowship Hall is a white block building.
