I’ve loved to write since I was a child. My “career” started back in 6th grade when I worked on the middle school yearbook…where my personal plans for the future were stated as being a writer. I wrote editorials for the college newspaper at Isothermal Community College in the 70’s, wrote articles for the company newsletter during my employment at a ritzy resort in the 80’s, and had my first magazine article published in 1998. I self-published my first book in 2003. Lippincott Williams & Wilkins bought that one, and ended up publishing 5 of my books.
Since then I’ve authored over a dozen books; some of them about massage, and some on other subjects. I’m currently transitioning to having all my books self-published, as LWW has discontinued their entire massage line. I was blessed with good editors early in my career, and I learned from all of them. By the time my second book was published by Lippincott, I found that while I was writing, I would say to myself “Might as well take that out; the editor will!”
For the past few years, I’ve written and edited books for others. I enjoy helping people get their words into publishable form. If you are interested in having my help on your writing project, send an email to educatedheart@gmail.com with a description of your project and contact information, and we’ll set up a phone meeting.
Here are some of the recent books I’ve edited. Unfortunately, I can’t divulge the books I’ve ghostwritten for other people…that’s the point of ghostwriting; I do the work, and they get the credit!
